I’ve co-founded ELDERS - Futures and Transition thinkers.

We are strategists who design clear visions and engaging stories. We help organizations with the questions ‘How could our regenerative future look like?’ and ‘How do we get people on board?’.

The Behavioural Design Academy is a knowledge institute on the power of behavioural psychology to make better marketing, communication and organizations. In a full 2-day program we give senior industry experts the knowledge and tools to understand human decision-making and effectively change behaviour.

I co-designed the program together with Tom de Bruyne and Astrid Groenewegen, founders of SUE Amsterdam. And I led the Behavioural Design Academy in its first months in the role of Director.

The BDA has trained 350+ industry experts by now, of which I have trained 150+ people myself.

I’m still one of the trainers at the BDA in Amsterdam. So if you’re attending in the future, we might meet there.

In the past years I have taken the stage on dozens of occasions at diverse places.

My talks mostly revolve around the topic of Behavioural Psychology and Behaviour Change. How do people make decisions? Why do we behave the way we do? How do we effectively change human behaviour?

Other topics which I have designed masterclasses and workshops around are Agile working, Design Thinking and Creativity.

Places I've presented at include Service Design Days Barcelona, IxDA Munich and Digital Wednesday Eindhoven, next to many other Applied Science Universities, companies and governmental institutions.

I was part of the team developing the Kadoboom idea, communication strategy and brand. I’m continuously involved to see how we can keep growing our forest, so we can overcome the big social challenges of our times by giving each other a gift that matters.

The Belgian Advertising School is a one-year postgraduate making 25 talents real-world-ready for a job in the creative communication industry.

As one of four coaches, I teach our 25 students on essential knowledge, methods and tools for the creative industry.

This involves lectures (on behavioural psychology, agile, behavioural design, human-centred design,...), facilitating creative processes, project coaching and one-to-one coaching for personal growth.

With a team of employees at SUE, we participated in the 'What Design Can Do: Refugee Challenge'. An open call to come up with ideas that could help refugees. 

After research and talks with Syrian refugees we came to a tipping point insight: refugees are constantly living in a state of unclarity. Despite multiple efforts to provide refugees with the right information, they often can’t find clear answers.

Our solution to this was 'How To Refugee': A mobile-first website where refugees can drop their questions. A team of question-solvers and translators will answers these questions. Call it a google run by humans, a chat box helpdesk. The promise? Instant answers, just ask.

It is better than other means of information so far because it is instant, reliable and personal.

We did not win the What Design Can Do challenge. But I still firmly believe in the value of the idea.

In 2015 I’ve founded De Uitdaging together with my closest friends.

De Uitdaging is an organization that takes on physical challenges for causes we care about. Every year a charity is chosen (something close, local and worth supporting: something we care about). Subsequently we will take on a physical challenge and tell the world about it. Through our stories we put a spotlight on the charity. And fundraise donations so these organizations can grow and continue to do the amazing things they are doing.
